Research Investigator / Senior Research Investigator, Biochemistry and Cell Biology

OnKure is looking for a highly motivated drug discovery scientist, with experience in biochemistry and cell biology, to help us create a robust pipeline of clinical drug candidates.

What You Will Achieve:
• As a senior research biologist, you will play an essential role in the development, implementation and execution of tactics and strategy for generation of the biology data required to advance OnKure’s preclinical portfolio of novel cancer therapeutics. .
• You will be a key member of a highly collaborative drug discovery team, with the opportunity to help guide and establish best practices and procedures in a new organization.

How You Will Achieve It:
• Provide expertise in the design and execution of in vitro biochemistry and cell-based assays experiments
• Work collaboratively with OnKure scientific leadership and with project teams at CRO collaborators
• Support outsourced work as well as in-house, hands-on lab-based work as needed, to meet project goals

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
• M.S. or Ph.D. in biological sciences, with 5+ years of experience in oncology drug discovery in biotech or pharma.
• Expertise in vitro biochemistry and cell biology
• Experience with high throughput assay development a plus
• Experience managing CROs preferred
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and support several projects in parallel

You will lead one or more drug projects. You will collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines, both internally and externally.. You will have an impressive record of success in discovering drugs and a hunger to accomplish more.

• You will make key contributions to the design and syntheses of small molecule-derived drugs.
• Using your good people skills and excellent in synthetic chemistry knowledge, you will solve medicinal chemistry challenges and deliver on project team goals with a high level of productivity.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry
• Experience in small molecule drug discovery in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting with 8+ years’ experience.
• Proven track record of success in advancing programs from leads to advanced candidates.
• Extensive experience in lead compound optimization for potency, selectivity, ADME and PK.

Controller

OnKure, Inc. is looking for a hands-on, team-oriented Controller who can manage all aspects of our accounting and finance department.

What You Will Achieve:
This essential role oversees all financial, accounting and cash management functions, develops and maintains policies, procedures, reporting and controls to support the company. The Controller will possess strong accounting skills and experience to lead the process of growing the accounting and finance function. The successful candidate will be organized and proactive with strong communication skills and willing to take the time to help develop the accounting team.

How You Will Achieve It:
• Lead, manage and help establish accounting and finance department.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit, working closely with external auditors.
• Participate and lead certain sections of audit committee meetings.
• With assistance from the team and advisors, research and implement technical accounting, reporting and disclosure topics as required.
• Responsible for the internal and external reporting functions. This will require, working closely with various groups in the company, including the CFO, auditors, and counsel as necessary.
• Maintain appropriate accounting processes and internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in the financial planning and analysis process.
• As a leading representative from the accounting and finance group, work cross functionally with various teams throughout the company to provide financial support.
• Coordinate and manage the annual tax return processes.
• Contribute to building a positive team spirt and supporting the team’s efforts to succeed.
• Manage special projects and initiatives.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with minimum 7 years’ progressive accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred
• A combination of public and private company experience is preferred
• A positive team-player to lead, oversee, and develop a team
• Financial reporting, planning and analysis exposure
• Technical accounting research skills
